I am Worthy of His Love
Where do you get your worthiness? Or let me ask you this, where do you try to get your worthiness? Is it from your job? From your spouse? From how you parent your children?
You know who sees us as worthy? God. No matter what I have done, God loves me and I am worthy.
God is worthy of our trust, love, devotion, and worship.
That is the topic of the devotional today. Sorry it took me so long to get back to it...it's been a little crazy and I am finally getting back to a good groove with Remy. To let you in on my world for a minute before we dive into the devotional: my sister, brother-in-law, and their two children moved 8 hours away from us. My sister and I spent a lot of time together before she left, which I am so thankful for. We are very close and we won't let distance stop us from that. I am excited about what God has in store for them.
I have to admit to you...I struggle with my worth. It's hard sometimes to view myself as worthy. But I am. To my Father in heaven, I am worthy. He chose me to be a wife and a mother.
Psalm 23 is often read at funerals, but it's meaning is much deeper than that. Anyone who struggles can refer to this passage of scripture for peace. God is there through it all and wants us to experience His peace. We just have to accept it. I love the verse "Yes, though I walk through the dark valley, I will fear no evil". We all go through some pretty dark valleys. Whether it's physical, mental, or spiritual struggle, we want the mountain top but we must go through the valley to get there. And God is there when we go through the valley; more importantly, we have nothing to fear because He will see us through it. He will be there to comfort us. Because he thinks of us as worthy. So why should we look at ourselves any different?
Today's challenge: Find something outside that God created to marvel at. Whether it's beautiful weather, clouds, birds, your child...just stand in awe of His beauty.
Question to Ponder:
1) Find evidence that will convince you of your worthiness.
John 3:16- For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, so that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life. That is proof enough for me.
2) Where is the first place you usually go when you desire to feel worthy?
I am really not sure. I never think of myself as worthy, but I am definitely changing that way of thinking.
Until next time, make it a great day!
